Pad Mounted Transformer – PMT
Pad Mounted Transformer is an oil-filled, hermetically sealed step-down transformer with a gas cushion, designed for installation on a concrete pad. It is commonly used in residential and commercial areas for servicing underground distribution loads, providing power for lighting, appliances, and other electrical equipment. This transformer features built-in fuses and switches and is available in live front or dead front construction, suitable for radial or loop feed applications, with or without taps. It uses aluminium or copper winding, optimized for maximum efficiency and a compact footprint. Advantages include its compact size, lightweight design, low losses, ease of maintenance, cost-effectiveness, enhanced aesthetics, and safety. The transformer is environmentally safe and meets industry standards, including IEEE, IEC, ANSI, DOE, NEMA, and CSA, as applicable.
